So applied at a !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! Hyundai dealer a while back. The interview went very good, the references I gave were good (as he said when I followed up), he said he call either way. So now I’m (im)patiently waiting to get the call saying I got the job, I’ve done all I can do. Now I wait. Last time I called following up he told me he was now deciding, so there is another mystery person(s). Atleast I still have a job if this one does not go the way I want.

Usually they don’t call references at all unless they plan to hire you - I’d take that as a good sign. Good luck!

I don’t have the heart to screw people with shit credit working min wage jobs over. It’s entry level shop help, hopefully leading to an apprenticeship.

KI would just like to say ALWAYS follow up. I thought I nailed an interview once, but then I heard nothing for 3 weeks. Tired of waiting I called the HR guy, and asked if they’d made a decision yet. He said “no, but tell me when did you say you could start again?”. I got the offer the next morning.
On my first day I found out they had actually sent an offer to another candidate who had accepted it. The day I called was supposed to be that persons start date, but he called and said he wouldn’t be coming in. He was sent a better offer the day before from another company he’d interviewed at. My new manager actually said, “yeah nothing really stood out about you, but you called at the right time. I needed the position filled, and didn’t want to start the interviewing process all over again”
Uhhh thanks, I guess? Way to buzzkill the my first day.

If he does not call by Tuesday (he is not in on weekends) I’ll follow up again, I don’t want to be too pushy.

heard some bad tales about how their salespeople are trained to do some weird stuff to get people in their vehicles, let us know how this goes if you get hired

Yeah, I wouldn’t call too soon or more than once or twice. Some people call every 2 or 3 days, and that’s a sure fire way to NOT get the job.
